Vaughan Springside Campus of Care
Agnew Peckham worked closely with the Vaughan Health Care Foundation on several planning projects from 2006 to 2009, which created the Springside Campus of Care. Our work included community engagement processes to establish the need for and attributes of the proposed community health centre(CHC), facility planning (e.g., functional programming), strategic governance and operational planning for the CHC and a facilitated process to identify and attract compatible non-profit and private tenants for the campus of care. Our team was recognized by the Board of Directors of the Vaughan CHC at its 2008 annual general meeting for our contributions to the development of the centre.
Distinctive components of this work included:
- Community engagement processes within the ethnically diverse community of Vaughan as part of the CHC planning process. The consultation process included key informant interviews, a telephone survey and 3 community forums.
- Facility planning for the Vaughan CHC, with a focus on facilities that accommodate the needs of the three priority populations: seniors, youth and residents of Vaughan with mental illness.
- Governance and strategic planning with the Vaughan Health Care Foundation to establish a governance framework and to determine strategic goals and directions.
